The New Network for the Hibiscus Coast, including the extension of the Northern Express to Hibiscus Coast Station, was launched on Sunday 18 October 2015.


Consultation and feedback

Public consultation on the New Network for the Hibiscus Coast ran from 14 July to 18 August 2014.

Overall, we received 874 responses. The majority of the respondents (71%) support or strongly support the proposed changes.

School bus services were not part of this consultation. Any changes to school services in the future will be discussed with the schools involved.


Hibiscus Coast Station construction

Stage 2 of the Hibiscus Coast Station has now been granted the necessary consents for construction to proceed.

This project is budgeted for construction in the 2016/2017 financial year, with works anticipated to start in early 2017.

The works involve construction of the busway station and expansion of the car park to create an overall parking capacity of 500 spaces.
